Adwords Annoyances

We've been running a Google adwords campaign for our b2b site promoting our conversion engine, and noticed some annoyances with the Google adwords tool:

  1. The average search volume for the previous month is off - in some cases by a couple of orders of magnitude!! - compared to the yearly average search volume. This post on the Search Engine War blog explains some reasons why this may be so. Bottom line - double check the sources when making your traffic estimate. Our experience indicates that the average search volume is a better indicator.

  2. The usability of the help system is quite poor. There are 404 errors to auto generated links on pages, and they make you click too much instead of providing more information in one page. Very disappointing.
